I’ve been using this in my F350 6.0 for about a year now. This is the best additive yet! On first startups the injectors run much quieter and I have gained at least 2mpg since I started using it!! Great product!!!

We do recommend synthetic vs. conventional, and please follow the recommended treatment ratio for your vehicle (for example: 2 qts replacing 2 quarts of oil for a 11-20 quart system). Thanks!

      This stuff works…
I don’t believe in a mechanic in a can, but Hot Shot Special Stiction Eliminator has got me thinking otherwise. My 2007 Ford F-250 6.0L Powerstroke started running poorly last summer, It has 195K on the original engine and pulls a 31 foot camper regularly.

I took it to several mechanics and was told that it was the FICM ($300+ repair) or possibly bad injectors ($200+ each injector plus labor to R&R). I bought and poured one bottle of Hot Shot Special Stiction Eliminator and Diesel Extreme into the engine and fuel tank after I changed my oil like normal and drove my truck less than 100 miles and the performance issues I have been dealing with for more than 6 months were gone… not better, not maybe improved, “Completely GONE!!! my truck feels like it has more power and I barely turn it over and it fires right off and runs smoothly at a cold startup. It hasn’t started that easily from a cold startup in two or three years.

I am so impressed with the product I am going to purchase another bottle and try it in my daughters car. The Mechanics have told me that her engine needs to be rebuilt because it is burning oil so badly and running super rough that is is likely stuck rings or carbon on the pistons. If Hot Shot works as well on her car as it has on my truck this product will have saved me thousands of dollars in repair costs and Hot Shot will have a die hard customer. I will keep you posted.

Had a work truck with 6.0 power stroke. When driving truck could not go over 50 mph would stall buck it was bad. Took to Ford garage they said it would take about 5000.00 dollars to repair it. I saw this product on TV. Got it drained oil out. Added new oil and the hot shot change filter also added the diesel extreme. Drive truck with in 100 miles the truck ran like I put a new engine in it. This stuff works. You can hear the engine is running a lot more free. The turbo sounds better. I have a 6.5 Chevy and I also put the Stiction Eliminator in it and it runs great.

I have a 97 7.3 powerstroke facing some skipping problems as you can see in the video : ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA9COsjXYjM ) Between 2-3 rpm the engine is skipping, feels like “bucking”. There is a white smoke when first start but cleans up after 5 secounds running, idle little bit higher than normal, and fuel economy just terrible. What would be the best suggestion ?

I have a 2012 E250 work van with a gas engine (80,000 miles). I do not have any smoke coming out of the tail pipe but I do have to add a quart or two of oil every few weeks. Will this help with sticking oil rings? I think thats my problem anyway… other than the excessive oil consumption my van has always been trouble free and smooth.

Ive used motorkote, Lucas, and many other oil additives over the years and nothing compares to this stuff! I’ve used this in my tripak pay because it black smoked extremely bad and after running it 10 hours the first night no more black smoke. So I decided to try 4 quarts in my 2007 Pete 387 with a 550 cat yesterday. I changed my oil in lake park ga at 1,058,300 mile on the original motor and drove 250 miles to Opelika al shut down for 10 hour got up this morning and noticed the truck was easier to start and once I got rolling and everything warmed up realize my coolant temp was at 150 instead of 180 and it’s 51 degrees outside. I have been completely happy with hotshots diesel extreme and this is another great product I hope to see hotshot continue to make products that give them the best bang for their buck!

Have 2001 F-350 4×4 crew cab truck with over 300,000 miles. The truck has the 7.3 diesel engine and that when atmospheric temperature got to 45 we would have to plug the block heater in order to get the truck to start. Since I started using your product stiction eliminator, the block heater for the truck no longer needed except when extreme cold weather has arrived and way better mileage & power. Will use nothing but this product in the oil changes for all my diesel powered vehicles.

7.3L at 300K+ with factory injectors. Suffered with sticky injectors when cold. With first treatment the engine is quieter and injectors are getting better. I’m waiting for the complete oil change interval and second treatment to make a final judgement. After 1K miles my Initial feeling is that the Stiction Eliminator is working.

I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi with over 100K miles. I have seen this product for years and decided to bite the bullet and try it. I really wasn’t expecting anything amazing. I changed my oil and used 1 qt of the Stiction Eliminator (b/c I didn’t have 2). After driving on the highway for a short period of time, I could see that my fuel mileage improved. After driving 2 hours to my first stop, my mpg was up slightly over 2mpg. I was really surprised (and happy). After another hour of driving with a few more stops in moderate traffic, my mpg was up almost 2 mpg from what I would normally get on that trip. I have filled up the fuel tank a few times and drive in more traffic to/from work. My mileage is about 1 mpg than I would normally get. I hope to see this continue. I will use the FR3 on the next oil change to see if that makes any improvements. Happy so far.

I have a 2003 6.0. Ill’ make a long story short if I can. 2 years ago all of a sudden my truck started running so bad I had to park it. I sent it to good mechanic, who sent it another then went to a Ford diesel mechanic. This was several months of floating around. New turbo, FICIM. fuel additive (Fords lubricity additive, quarts of it). The additives did improve by it still was far from were it used to be. I was told the injectors would need to replaced. I had already spent over $2000.00 in parts alone. I was speaking to another mechanic about my problem and informed me of your product. I looked it up, researched it a little an figured why not! you gave a money back guarantee if it did not clear up my problem in 4000 miles or less. I ran my truck for just under 1000 miles. I got in it one day and it just took off almost like new again. I have been in the automotive industry for over 40 years and I don’t recommend anything lightly, but I can recommend this product it certainly worked for my. Thanks a lot Hot Shot Products. Sincerely,
    Ted R.

I was told by a local milk hauler to add Hot Shot Stiction Eliminator during my next oil change to get rid of the bucking my ’07 F250 Turbo Diesel 6.0 has each time I first start driving until it thoroughly warms up. I did the oil change two weeks ago and have been driving mostly around the farm and into town for supplies. This stuff works. I have only a very slight buck once in a while, mostly when the temp is below 20F. I am guessing with the next oil change I will add another batch of Hot Shot Stiction Eliminator and the problem will be gone all together. You have two thumbs up from this farm boy. Thanks for saving me the cost of new injectors. ($1800)

Bought this truck after it sat for a fair bit of time on a farm. My friend recommended I use the stiction eliminator as a precaution since the 6.0 is notorious for injectors sticking amongst other many problems.

The first few days it would belch smoke when I started it up. Found one of the injectors was sticking and causing a loss of power and made for very hard starts.

It has only been 200 miles and the difference is almost unfathomable. Starts after the first key cycle, no more smoke on start up, runs like a top.

The injectors are still a bit noisy, but it’s nothing compared to what they were when I first got it running.

Great product! Can’t wait to try it out on the 4.0l in my brothers Jeep.

I have been slowly working my way in to using as many Hotshots products as possible. With my last oil change, I was finally able to use the Stiction Eliminator and I am very excited about the difference I feel in the power, and how quiet my engine is now. Before using the Stiction Eliminator, my valve train was getting pretty noisy. with my last oil change, I added the Stiction Eliminator, and with in 200 miles, there was a noticeable difference in power and how loud my engine was. My wife even noticed, so you know that’s huge.

I added 8oz about 200 miles ago it seems to be much better already I think it will solve my problem giving it a little more time.
I use the transmission stiction eliminator and it solved that problem so I feel this will do the same.

    Mark F Vetsch

I have a 2000 E350 Ford cargo van with a 7.3 diesel and just over 300,000 miles. The van had no power over half throttle and was blowing tons of white smoke. I was looking to pull the injectors and replace the turbo which is a huge job in a van. As a last resort I put in 32 oz of Stiction eliminator after draining 2 qts of oil. I drove the van into town (15 miles) to run it a bit, on the way home the van totally woke up. The turbo started spinning up although squeaked for a bit and the white smile went totally away. The van is running perfectly after less than 30 miles.

Before spending a ton of money and time, I’d highly recommend trying this product. Worse case you’re out a small amount if the issue is something more serious but Stiction Eliminator is definitely worth the money.

You are definitely on the right track starting with the 32 oz maintenance dose since the miles are low (and every 3rd oil change after that), with FR3 in between. In fact, we recommend waiting until 40-50K miles before using additives generally, thanks!

    1. Should I do an 5 quart oil/filter change using a conventional oil, while substituting 1 quart Stiction Eliminator?

    2. How long should I run that before doing another oil/filter change, as I eventually want the oil clean when I pull the dipstick.

Or will I need to do multiple conventional oil (lower cost) changes with Stiction Eliminator before going back to using Mobil 1 full synthetic to achieve “clean” oil on dipstick DURING oil change interval ?

    3. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!

Hi Lance, the black oil does not necessarily point to an issue, and only an oil analysis would show for sure.
      1. Please replace 16 oz of oil with Stiction Eliminator at a fresh oil change (the initial treatment for that engine).
      2. You are good to run your normal oil change mileage-interval with conventional oil before servicing, and replacing with Mobile 1 at that point (Stiction Eliminator will work most efficiently with a full synthetic, however).
      3. Like I eluded to above, it is highly recommended to do an oil analysis before, after, and possibly a 3rd time depending how the first 2 results look. Feel free to call our technicians if you have any other questions, thanks!

I added four quarts to a nearly fresh oil change on my 09 KW with 850,000 miles. I found out later that day that my mechanic had added 2 gal or Lucas oil stabilizer to my oil change. Will this damage the engine or do I need to drain it?

Hi Bryan, generally we do NOT recommend mixing oil additives, but in your case it will be ok. Very low chance for any damage since Lucas oil stabilizer is essentially a thick oil; petroleum based with very few additives.

    Question

    Gary

I have an 2004.5 Dodge, 5.9 Cummins with 339,000 miles on it. I found your Stiction Eliminator product on the internet and I am considering using it. When is the best time to add Stiction Eliminator, just before an oil change or at an oil change? I use extended drain times on my oil changes. How long should you run Stiction Eliminator in your oil before changing it? How much do I use? My engine requires 12 quarts at an oil change. Thank you.

Hello Gary. Please use 2 quarts of Stiction Eliminator replacing 2 quarts of oil at a fresh oil change. You are fine with extended drains and leaving Stiction Eliminator in the oil, whether it’s 3,000 or 20,000 miles; the longer it’s in the oil, the more it will continue to clean! (as long as you are routinely analyzing the health, TBN, etc.)

I own an 07 F250 6.0L, and I was dealing with hard starts, and rough idle. I thought I would give the Stiction Elminator and the Blue Diamond oil a try. I was very sceptical at first, but the next morning when I started my truck, there was an instant change in the initial idle, and was missing just a little till it warmed up. On day 2, there was no missing at all. I purposely started my truck and started to drive it to test it. To my amazement, my truck ran perfect! No rough idle, no hard starts. I gained 3 miles per gal, and noticeable horsepower gain immediately. If you have your doubts, like I did, there is no need! I’m still amazed, and will forever run Blue Diamond and Stiction Elminator in my truck!

I have been using stiction eliminator and diesel extreme in my 99 7.3 for the past year. Before using your product I was averaging 14-15.2 mpg, I have changed the oil every 5k miles and add the fuel treatment every 10k. Every time the mileage and performance has went up (this morning the truck averaged 19 mpg, IMO, not bad at all for a 1 ton dually, 4:10 gearing with a 4 speed tranny). I could not be happier with the product. I have also used both products in my daughters 2002 duramax (had an injector issue), after running the stiction eliminator I noticed almost immediately that the problem cleared up significantly. Thank you very much for this product. I would recommend (and have) your products to everyone. My next tranny flush I plan on using the TSE, and will review that. Once again, thank you for a great product.

I bought a 2000 Duramax that stopped running. A mechanic I trust and others said diagnosed that some injectors were stuck open because there was a lot of fuel in the oil pan. First step suggested was to replace all injectors and then see if the fuel pump was good.

I can only get the truck to started by spraying starter fluid into air intake and keep it running with intermittent bursts. I can also keep it running with propane gas going into intake.

Do you think stiction eliminator could fix injectors stuck open and bring the truck back to life?

Hi Josh, we guarantee that the Diesel Extreme fuel additive will help your Duramax injectors (it would be worth using Stiction Eliminator also, but not for injector related issues). If you aren’t satisfied, we’ll send you your money back!

Hello, it stays in the oil for the full oil change interval, you are good to go for 20,000 miles!

    Question

    William

Hello, I have a question regarding HSS in the 6.0 powerstroke. Initially ran the 2 qts in my first oil change + 13 qts T6 5w40. Next change, I ran a maintenance qt second oil change + 14 qts T6 5w40. Did not run it next oil change only 15 qts T6. Now this past weekend, I changed to Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme 5w40 14 qts + 1 qt. HSS. My plan was to do an initial clean out and then two maintenance clean-outs (had an issue that resulted in interruption of that plan), then run the recommended HSS interval every third oil change thereafter. Will running the HSS in the described fashion create an issue over just 5w40 synthetic? The truck seemed to really like the HHS and responded very well to it when I ran it the 1st time and successive time on the maintenance dose? Also, can this be run every oil change?

Hi William, there is no issue with how you are using and planning to use Stiction Eliminator. We recommend using the FR3 Friction Reducer with the oil changes in between the maintenance doses of Stiction Eliminator; guarantee your 6.0L will love it!

I have been using the original stiction eliminator for years. I have had no injector issues with over 100,000 miles. It is good for your engine and will save money in the long run

This product at first seems kind of expensive. After using it, no way, worth every penny. It cleaned up my 1996 7.3 in record time. It is quieter and has more power. I will be using this product and the rest of their products on my aging 7.3. I wish I had discovered them sooner. Thanks!

5 out of 5 32 ounces of prevention

    S.P. Hunter

I have been using HSS products for the last 5 years in my ’05 6.0 to prevent trouble. I have always used premium brand fuel additive and synthetic oils but have settled on HSS because I feel my truck responds to it the best. And the company backs up it’s claims with testing and refunds if you’re not happy with the results.

I was skeptical but, I added 2quarts to my 15 quart oil change in a 2003 6.0 liter powerstroke. This thing was not running well at all. After driving about 35 or 40 miles on the interstate I noticed it smoothing out. By the end of the day and about 300 miles my truck ran better, idled better and accelerated better. Now with almost 1000 miles it runs almost like it did 147000 miles ago.
This stuff is pricey but well worth it ! Especially with the guarantee.
    Thanks guys !

    Question

    Tom

Had issues with a 07 Chevy Traverse, the cylinder closest to the fire wall has a cooling issue and a lot of build up. With that the VVT is not doing what it is suppose to do. Changed all the cam position sensors, with only 70000 miles I don’t thing it is the cam chain. After some research found out this is a common problem. This brings me to you and giving you product a try. I figure it is a 50/50 chance it will clear the problem before a 2000.- cam chain replacement. Your thoughts!

Hi Tom, we have not published testing on this specific problem, but we 100% want you to use it and keep us posted on results. If it doesn’t provide satisfactory results, it is likely more than a lubrication issue alone and we’ll give you your money back!
